Correct - I made a mistake with the comment about 'turning on all loads' th=
at was my battery test back with a carb'd engine! Opps.=20

Gary - The comment "most automotive systems will work until 6V" maybe on th=
e optimistic side.=A0 I'll isolate the loads for various sub systems and us=
e my HP Power Supply to see what is going on (HP6033A - 0 to 20V; 0 to 30Am=
p).=A0 Nothing worse than discovering the ignition coils won't fire will le=
ss than that 8.2V, or the ignition circuit will start pulling 6 Amps to com=
pensate for lower voltage!=A0=A0 Little things like 12V relays will need 9V=
 to close, but remain closed=A0down to=A04V....=A0 Only way to find out for=
 sure is test everything.=A0=A0

Worst mistake ever... the old "starter on top of motor/bell housing" 12A en=
gines.=A0 I had a worn starter bushing, so once the starter engaged it woul=
d not disengage.=A0 This was in my RX2.=A0Jumped out, battery still crankin=
g the engine, popped the hood open.=A0 Right=A0when I was going to=A0twist =
off a battery connection, looked down and watched the "+" post melt right i=
nto the battery!=A0 I was like "What the Heck..... "=A0 BOOM!=A0 Battery ex=
ploded, blew the top off, acid went=A0all over the place.=A0=A0 You would h=
ave thought by now I would have learned to stay away from rotary engines. :=
