Mike, for what its worth, I use the earl's filter (blue with An-6 fitting on each end with a fine wire mesh around 3 -3 1/2" long barrel shaped body. I've used it for 10 years and early occasionally found a chunk of debris - nothing close to impeding fuel flow, but enough to show it was doing the job of keeping the big junk out of the pumps. I cant remember where I got them. The 300 GPH probably came from the marketing department rather than engineering. I have not tested them myself. As of this point they seem to do the job and I havent noted any fuel flow issues at max power. What brand of filter are you using now? do they have -6 fittings or hose barbs? I flushed out all the hoses after assembly and then blem them out with compressed air. Anyone else using Earls hoses and if so, any problems with ethanol? I see Earls has a new teflon lined kevlar jacketed hose that is considerably lighter than their standard hose and more flexible as well. Pricey though! I finally traced the problem to the the sintered bronze elements that looked clean but were, in fact, partially blocked by invisible tiny particles. I replace the bronze elements with stainless mesh filters and had no more problems.
