I have the James rotary cowl also for my RV-9A with 13B engine. I saw Ben Schneider's RV-7 at Pontiac Illinois on the way to OSH in 2007. He is using the Renesis engine, James rotary cowl, CATTO prop and the UHS 13.5 inch spinner kit which appears to give a good match with the cowl.  The kit is P/N 05-09800 for $215.95 on page 179 in the 08-09 Aircraft Spruce catalog.

I have the James rotary cowl--front “face” has a 13.75” diameter.  I also have the Vans 13” spinner that is already cut to fit my CATTO prop.  This leaves about a 3/8 lip of cowl showing all the way around the spinner.  Take a look at the picture.

I know any amount of lip will cause drag, but is this enough to warrant a new spinner?   UHS makes a 14” one that would probably do the trick.
