Mike,
The spiral insert on my Moroso style muffler was made of SS and held up pretty well. The problem was the method of attaching the spiral insert inside the down pipe. The exhaust would melt regular AN hardware. Just some things to think about.
One thing I noticed when I installed the Hushpower II was that the exhaust tone was lower. Whether or not that is a good thing, I don't know, just thought it might be of interest to someone.

My current (ineffective) muffler is a modified copy of the Moroso. Mine differs in that the inner tube is larger than Moroso makes them - I was afraid the small tube they use would prove to restrictive. Maybe a mistake. Oh, the other difference is mine is made of Inconel (got a killer deal on it).

Moroso makes a spiral flow muffler, something on the design that Ed had. The only thing is that it doesn't come in SS. An internal picture is show in Jeg's hp catalog. JohnD
