Mike,
Ed offers a very good suggestion, use shielding around your exhaust.  If your cowl will also be fiberglass it would benefit from shielding the exhaust.  I rolled some thin SS, used some SS strips bent to give 3/4" standoffs, riveted to the SS, and hose clamped them to the exhaust.  Also, if you don't have a support for the lines from the oil cooler you may want to add a support.

Here are a couple of pictures of my engine install. Had a couple of engine runs today including one run at full power (5300 RPM static) for about 10 minutes. Temps came up to 180 and stopped climbing. Things are starting to come together now. Starting to have some confidence in this thing.
