I finished tearing my engine down yesterday.  This engine was rebuilt by Bruce Turrentine over a decade ago.  It wasn't zeroed timed, just tore down, checked and put back together with new seals (several of the 3-piece apex seals are still 2-pieces).  No rust ANYWHERE, even though I've not done anything other than keep it inside, and cover the ports with duct tape.

The next steps are to:
- mic everything to verify tolerances, but everything has been excellent so far.  For instance, I tried Lynn's "apex seal play in the apex groove" trick.  Every slot has just under 1/16" of play.

- do an aggressive street port.  I have some trash plates from another engine to play with.

- ceramic coat the rotors and bearing surfaces.  I was going to pay to have this done...even got a reference from Bruce.  But while investigating it, I ran across a comment that stopped me cold.  "Every time I've paid to have something done and shipped a part off, my part got trashed."  That has been my experience, so I decided I'm going to do it myself.  It's more in keeping with what has become the theme of this project anyway.  That theme being "I did that".  Ordered the Tech Line Coatings chemicals from Caswell last night.

The incredible thing about rebuilding this engine is that every part can be laid out on a 3'x6' worktable so that each is visible, and there is still workspace available.
