Kevin,

I've got a few comments - a cross-flow water rad. on the cool side should work well.  Can you mount the oil cooler horizontally across the nose instead of vertically.  That would eliminate one inlet air turn prior to the radiator..  The muffler may not be required given the softer tone of the Renesis exhaust and the fact that you are planning a "log" collector on the exhaust already.  My intake on my flying Renesis powered RV-7A is not providing any added hp. I'd like to know how your intake works when you get it going.

here is a crude layout scheme I have been working on for my renesis/-6A using the existing cowl. (I'll make a new one after it melts! :-)  I think I'll have a radiator made, max. 15x18x2.5" cross-flow.  the stock oil cooler seems to fit across the front, probably a bit lower than shown to improve airflow (it was easier to attach it here for the time being).  my other idea was a log exhaust plenum that somehow would feed a muffler mounted below.  I think this would be cheaper than buying all those mandrel bent s/s pipes.  this all began when I started to look for an engine mount.  using an asymmetric beam across the front mounts makes the exhaust fit easier, and the short part on the cold side allows for the big radiator area needed.   I plan to keep the intake on the hot side, since the optimal 18" runner reaches about to the center of the engine.
I'm not sure why the oil pan plug is forward.  I haven't pulled the custom pan yet.  perhaps it is just on backwards.  I could be a bigger capacity.
so, after your laughter cedes, any comments?  (yes, despite being a carpenter, I will get a metal mount :-)   what have I forgotten?  kevin  (but those sheetrock screws go so fast!)
