You apparently have the version with the Primer function but NOT the diagnostic modes. These are two very different things, the Primer is a functional mode for normal operations, not a diagnostic feature although it can be used for troubleshooting in some situations. FWIW, I am frequently criticized (sometimes quite harshly) for these changes in product specs. It is at these times that I can sympathize with Lycoming for making so few changes. If stability is more important than experimenting I always recommend installing a Lycoming or Continental. To repeat: All 6 injectors should operate in Primer mode. There is something wrong if less than all 6 fire. Also repeating: You should have this unit updated if it was made prior to having the diagnostics modes. There have been MANY features and improvements incorporated since that time. Always read the new installation guide which comes with all updates for changes to programming and wiring details. P.S. The charge for updating units is not the reason behind the changes which make updates desirable. I would gladly give up the charge in exchange for the time I spend on them. I'd rather be flying (or motorcycling, or working on my RV-8, or goofing off. or ......) From prior posts: The mechanical relay on the 20B version apparently works on some installations (Al G is still using it I think) but I strongly recommend changing to the solid state relay specified in the new installation guide and the schematic that I uploaded to the list several times. Bob M.,

' What you have '  is answered by the installation guide that came with the unit.

I'd rather be flying (or motorcycling, or working on my RV-8, or goofing off. or ......)

From prior posts:   The mechanical relay on the 20B version apparently works on some installations (Al G is still using it I think) but I strongly recommend changing to the solid state relay specified in the new installation guide and the schematic that I uploaded to the list several times.

Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape in the new year.
