Hi Gang,

Made a 1600 mile detour from Sun & Fun to = Louisiana to=20 visit with Grandson and meet his French girlfriend.   Had a = great time=20 at Sun & Fun.  Was invited by Tracy and Laura to pitch my tent = beside=20 them again this year, I think mainly for the entertainment value = provided. =20 Ask Laura when you next see her about, awnings, rain, lafumas and = leaking air=20 mattress.

I installed my new model EFI system monitor for = the return=20 flight home.  Discovered immediately that I need to turn up the = brightness=20 of the display for full sun.  Now that I have the "Snubber" fix for = my EC2=20 provided by Tracy during my stop - over with he and Laura that my = monitor and=20 the EC2 now agree without my historic fudge-factor.  The first stop = I=20 onloaded 25 gallons of fuel and the monitor showed 25.09 gallons = used.  So=20 accuracy is looking good.

Unfortunately leaving Louisiana on Friday, I = found I had=20 50+ MPH tail wind.   Landed to refuel in Northern Alabama, = taxied back=20 on the taxiway parallel to the runway and turned to get onto the = runway.  I=20 thought - "Well, the FAA is really getting serious about = runway-incursions, they=20 have placed rumble strips across the taxi way's just before the=20 runway."

With that thought filed away, I continued = to turn=20 and align for take off.  NOW I thought this is carrying it too = far. =20 Rumble strips on the taxi way is one thing - rumble strips on the runway = is=20 another.   About that time the light bulb came on - I had a = flat=20 tire.  Sure enough it was the nose wheel tire - flatter than a=20 pancake.  Fortunately I carry a spare tube and there was a mechanic = there=20 and I was on my way after about an hour delay.

I think everyone has covered the Sun & Fun=20 events.  We ended up having 5 rotary aircraft there including = Rich's newly=20 painted RV-3 as well as Max Lassache flying his beautiful Falcair=20 -12?

So a great time and enjoyed seeing a number of = you=20 there.
