Clean, clean, clean, using solvents and a dedicated stainless steel brush. They said that any hint of dirt or oil would cause the weld to spatter, and when the weld blew out there would be holes. I would have to agree with Jerry that Ed K. would be a good choice to do the work. You would have to ship it to Paducah KY. but that might be better than buying another one.
