I'm putting a Mistral G-190 (2-Rotor) in my Glasair Super II RG.  I have a plumbing question that I cannot resolve to my satisfaction and was wondering if any of you could shed some light on this.  The engine sits rather high on the firewall.  There is just enough room on the top of the engine to get a cowl over the top.  It is my understanding that a pressure tank should be mounted at the highest point in the cooling system.  However, that is not possible because of the way the engine sits on the nose.  The water pump outlet is the highest point in the system.

The only way I can get a point that is higher is by running AN hose up and over the injectors and then down to the radiators, which are mounted under the chin.  Is it possible to plumb the system without a pressure tank?  I have an inline radiator cap with AN connectors on both ends and was wondering if I can just use that without the pressure tank.  Or can a pressure tank be located below the highest point?

Confused on the left-coast.

Best Regards,

Steve
