Hi Bill,
well, I was afraid that asking orbit would not work (...for us). I gue= ss that's why Francois started his own development too.
I hope very much that your system works, as I doubt that Mistral will = make their system available as a stand a lone for homebuilders, as they d o= with their PSRU and backplate...
Francois?

The Siemens parts would probably be cheapest if you buy an "= accident" and re-sell all the other stuff!":)
Where are you located? Do they sell Direct-injection Audis where you a= re?
I understand BMW and Mercedes also have common rail EFI Diesels.....

Bill (Jepson),

didn't you start to "work" on a direct-injection/ignitio= n system to be used on the Rotary for burning Jet-A/Diesel?
If I am not mistaken..... - any progress on this?
I think you talked about using some outborder-injection system/parts..= ..

Best Regards,

Thomas J
Thomas,
I was researching direct injection yes. I was looking at the inj= ectors from Merc 2 cycle DI outboards, which would be suitable. The injecto= rs used on the Opti-max Mercurys are designed by orbital in Austrailia. The= y are not very cooperative with anyone that isn't an OEM. I talked to t= hem and the tech and engineering guys agreed that the system would work.&nb= sp;Then they said to send them 20-30,000 dollars and we could get started!!= Way too expensive to get started. I'm not really too upset as the orbi= tal isn't a true direct injection anyway, it has a max injection pressu= re of 3 bar. I have been since looking at the system used on the newest Aud= is, manufactured by Siemens. Very exciting system! It will run on gasoline = or diesel for the possibility of a true multi-fuel system. For Jet-A it wou= ld be a spark ignition heavy fuel not diesel in the rotary. I am hoping the= Siemens system will be cheaper and more available since it is used in cars= . I priced out the parts for the Mercury system and it was just too expensi= ve to buy over the counter. It might have bought the parts, but without bei= ng sure they would work, I just couldn't afford to take the chance. I a= m certain the Audi parts could be made to work so I'm working on findin= g a source. BTW Mistral is well along on a Jet-A fueled rotary, and has bee= n running one for some time. They will release it fir production soon. don&= #39;t know HP but it will be NA. Probably a bit less than the 190-200 = they are getting fron the NA  gasoline 2 rotor.
Cheers,
 Bill Jepson
