I was looking at the injectors from Merc 2 cycle DI outboards, which would be suitable. The injectors used on the Opti-max Mercurys are designed by orbital in Austrailia. They are not very cooperative with anyone that isn't an OEM. I talked to them and the tech and engineering guys agreed that the system would work. Then they said to send them 20-30,000 dollars and we could get started!! Way too expensive to get started. I'm not really too upset as the orbital isn't a true direct injection anyway, it has a max injection pressure of 3 bar. I have been since looking at the system used on the newest Audis, manufactured by Siemens. Very exciting system! It will run on gasoline or diesel for the possibility of a true multi-fuel system. For Jet-A it would be a spark ignition heavy fuel not diesel in the rotary. I am hoping the Siemens system will be cheaper and more available since it is used in cars. I priced out the parts for the Mercury system and it was just too expensive to buy over the counter. It might have bought the parts, but without being sure they would work, I just couldn't afford to take the chance. I am certain the Audi parts could be made to work so I'm working on finding a source. BTW Mistral is well along on a Jet-A fueled rotary, and has been running one for some time. They will release it fir production soon. don't know HP but it will be NA. Probably a bit less than the 190-200 they are getting fron the NA gasoline 2 rotor. Cheers, Bill Jepson
