I read Atlas and another of her books. There were no children, or references to
them as I recall. They didn't exist.
Sorry, not so. They might have been buried under 30-page philosophical rants, but they were there. First, there were the stories and flashbacks of Dagny, John, Francisco, and Jim as children. Then, there were brief introductions to Kay's children in Galt's Gulch. There were also appearances of others throughout the story, at various ages. The "wet nurse" in Hank's factory was fresh out of school, for instance - no specific age given, but I'm guessing 21-22 or so. There were also the younger children in the old factory town out West, and in a few other spots.
The story didn't FOCUS on children, but that's no surprise given its topic.
I've read it, oh, thirty or more times, so if you'd like any questions answered let me know. I suggest we take this offline though! =)
Regards,
Chad
