John,

Here is some load data I have gathered:
*Total Load
One builder reported that his 13b pulled a total load of 12 Amps while operating.
*Coils
Tracy answered one of my questions by saying the coils can pull 8 amps if they saturate but normally pull much less.
A builder ( Al G. I believe) had a 15A fuse on his coils (3coils, 20b engine) blow.
I am protecting my coil circuits (Pri and Sec on a 20B) at 20 amps.  Not running yet.
*Injectors
Per Tracy max current draw on the injectors is 2 amps.
*EC2
Per Tracy the current draw in the EC2 is 0.25 amp.
*EM2
No data on the EM2, since I have built my own on board computer for engine monitoring, AHRS, systems monitoring/alarming, moving map and EFB etc.

I am curious what PTCs you are using.  I used PTCs on some circuits. I used a Buss ATC form breaker, removed the bimetallic and soldered a PTC to the frame.  Then plugged into a ATC fuseblock.  This worked well, bit I am curious if you found a packaged PTC.

Thanks,
Joe

Al or anyone, speaking of fuses, I'm about to order
PTC resettable fuses in my Velocity, and haven't been
able to find any load values for the stock mazda
coils, the fuel injectors, the EC2 or the EM2, Al as I
recall you are using LS1 coils not Mazda but I haven't
come up with anything. I even looked in the RX7 manual
to see what size fuse Mazda used. It just says the
fuses are listed under the cap.

There certainly reasons for either CBs or fuses, and
I have both in my

simple, fault tolerance
and fuses.  I wouldn't argue with someone making a
different choice.

FWIW,

Al
