Ah, what a bargain. Perhaps I can employ a tactic
that my wife uses frequently (including today) whereby she shows me how much
money she saved me by buying an item on sale {:>).
This item would not cost that much to
make. The cost of materials is minimal - labor is the longest pole in the
cost tent. I had to machine the MSD nylon track piece which was a pain
because it did not want to machine well. The slab of aluminum is probably
the single most costly piece.
However, this is a bit of having the cart before
the horse as I have not yet used it in action. That should occur early
next week when the right-size SMD diode arrives and I'll post a couple of photos
showing the results. It should work - but, I've said that before
{:>)

Ed,
420-AARM Stereo Zoom Microscope Description: Stereo zoom
microscope on an articulated arm stand offers upright, unreversed
3-dimensional images that remain in focus throughout the zoom range. Optional
auxiliary objectives expand magnification range and working
distances. And it is on SALE for only
$975.00
for that price
though, I think I would just stick with the magnifying
light.
Have you set a
price yet?
