And  Rusty, should apologize for making me feel  like a complete stone.

You're right Tracy.  I would like to publicly apologize for making your painfully slow building rate so obvious  :-)

BTW, I still can't figure out  how people  part with something that takes so much blood, sweat & tears to build.  Maybe I'm overly prone to developing emotional attachments to machines.

Bob got it right, I just like to build things.  If I had an unlimited amount of money, and space, I'd keep the RV-8.  There will certainly be times that I'll wish I had it.  Unfortunately, that's not the case.  Even now, I'm dying to get started on the single rotor powered Dominator gyro (already have an insurance quote to prove I could satisfy the county hanger requirements), but the RV-8 is tying up all my resources.  I'm already thinking of building a Little Wing gyro, or perhaps an RV-12 when the Dominator is flying, so as you can see, I won't miss the RV-8 too much.

But mine is coming along after deciding to devote some uninterrupted  "RV-8 only" days on it.

I really can't wait to see the performance number on your plane.  I have a feeling it's going to smoke the Lycoming and PowerSports RV-8's that Van's tested.  Maybe some day yours can be tested head to head at Van's :-)

Cheers,
Rusty (off to actually fly the RV-8 some)
