FWIW, = I'm an electronics tech, and have soldered connections since I was a kid = working on my own R/C equipment. Only in the past couple years have I used = crimped D-Sub pins. =20 I will say here and now that I will NEVER solder another connector of = this type unless it's absolutely necessary. When I got my last EM-2 and = EC-2, I just threw those connectors in the junk box. The crimped pins are know = to be reliable (quality crimper and pins from = http://www.bandcspecialty.com/), and the speed and consistency of your work will be much improved.
