I just got some flexible exhaust pipe from JC
Whitney. The stuff is pretty neat, it is very flexible (though will not
make an extremely tight bend). It was inexpensive, and made of 304
stainless. It is also light weight.
So the only questions are how well will it hold
up, and how to attach it to the rest of the exhaust system.
Dave;
I wouldn’t expect much from this
stuff – it’s only .010” wall thickness. It may be fine
on a rotary if far from the ports; and maybe downstream from a muffler.
Otherwise the temperatures and the pulses would likely destroy it.
Al
Tracy, I understand you have been
using flexible pipe and it has been holding up OK. I just want to make
sure you are using the same stuff. Here is the link to what I have:
Is that the same stuff you are using? Has it
really held up? My plan for installation is to have u-joint flanges welded
on. Any better ideas or tips?
