When I was yanking cores out of junk yard cars, I discovered that there were at least three different sizes in GM cars.  The largest cores I found in the cars was the 13 1/2W x 9Hx 3 3/8"  - sounds like about the size of the one you removed, the others were smaller.

Yes, its the size of the one I sent you (that leaked - sorry 'bout that).  They have proven to be quite adequate for my installation - but may or may not for a different installation that is producing more power than I am.

Hi Ed,

Thanks for the confirmation.  I figured my current radiator size from the size of those cores.  Basically, two of them is 660 cubic inches of area, and I added another 330 to handle the heat of the oil.  Since the oil coolers didn't work out, I'm planning to cut the radiator back to about 660 to save space and weight.

I have the dimensions all drawn out for another custom radiator, but there's a chance that I might use cheek mounted cores rather than the bottom mounted radiator like I have now.  There's also a chance that I'll look into a P-51 style mount since that would help my CG.  The more I think about the options, the more I realized that I can use two of these evap cores for any of the above configurations.  Since I'm about to trash an $800 custom radiator,  the thought of using off the shelf cores that only cost about $130 each is pretty appealing.

I swear, one of these days, I'm going to come up with an idea that's better than Tracy's original scheme :-)

Cheers,
Rusty (kinda cloudy today)
