I am a retired Pratt engineer and still feel the rotary is the GA engine of the future, but have lost the "fire in the belly" as Tracy C puts it to be one of the pioneers. Am approaching 70 and do not have the energy to stay after it like a true "Rotorhead". Would rather fly at this point as to experiment! The installation has been relatively trouble free once I got past a bad DPDT switch that was burning control chips in the EC2. The coolant temp runs marginal on 90+ days. Oil temps are very good. Flew the 40 hours off in minimum time and have flown 10 hours since. Major components: Engine: 13B by Bruce Turrentine. Second Gen 6 port, streetported, 9.4:1 high compression rotors, 2 peice/2mm apex seals. Price new $4k. Gearbox: RWS RD-1B $2990 Controller: RWS EC2 EFI $875 ( latest updates, auto tune) Engine Monitor: RWS EM2 large screen $1050 Engine Mount: Conversion Concepts $1180 Muffler: Flowmaster Hush Power II $180 Sensenich Prop $975 Griffin Al Radiator $415 Sam James Cowl $550 ( was a 2nd with minor dry spot) LS1 coils $180 Intake manifold base $100 Many other small items not listed, but necessary to "fly" The major items listed come to ~ $12500. Will sell at a very large reduction. Make any reasonable offer and it is yours plus the many hours of saved time for you. You can see pictures of installation at Tracy's web site by looking under recent developments and click on Bernie's RV9 project.
