Geez, John. I'm assuming that the 46 mm measurement is the diameter of the hole that wastegate will port. I think you've been playing with the 89-91 turbo models which is slightly bigger than the 86-88 turbo that I just went out and measured. But my stock turbo wastegate measures just 15 mm across. Because A=pi( r^2), the increase in that diameter should be making a huge difference: You've got 9X the area vis-a-vis the stock 86-88 5.5 pounds of boost turbo.

Granted, that TO4E puts out a lot more boost than the stock turbo, it seems inconceivable that a 46 mm  (1.8 whopping inches!)wastegate can't take care of that boost. How big is your exhaust piping?

Recheck EVERYTHING. You know that if your TO4 blows up, everyone is going to say something stupid like "rotaries just can't be turbocharged."

Have you considered a blow-off valve safety device? As little as $91 plus install. 8^))

Yes, with a manual adjust (under the cowl) boost controller. I'd expect a different tone and boost drop off when the wastegate opens, but can't detect any change. I double checked the vacuum plumbing. Time to check it again.
