I usually burn avgas, & you're right about actual costs, assuming you can get auto gas & have to pay retail for avgas. Of course, auto gas works in a Lyc, too. It just causes slightly higher cyl head temps & you have to be careful of vapor lock with the carburated engines.

If you can get avgas wholesale, the cost spread isn't worth it. We just bought 1k gallons here & paid around $2.50/gal. If we could buy a full tanker, around 8k gallons, it would be much cheaper. The gas station down the road is selling regular for $2.35. (Sorry Ed; you topped off about 2 days early. When you come back through, it'll be cheaper.)

Now, if Mistral is successful with the heavy fuel version of the rotary, you can really save some money using off-road diesel.

Does anyone have an inkling of what one would have to do to get a 13B
to run on diesel?
