I drove up from Austin, and had a great time. Thanks to Bill for showing everyone what Texas hospitality is all about--you done us proud. I, also,
appreciate everyone who came in from all over the country. Your time,
knowledge, and the pleasure of your company is deeply appreciated.
Good to hear that Jason got his first start. I was very impressed by the
installation. Hope it all works out.
Sorry to hear about Chuck's problems, but happy to hear that he is safe.
BTW, Chuck, you do know that a Lyco could do the same thing. Don't
want to discourage you from using a perfectly good engine, but there
are no guarantees in this hobby (business for some, I guess).
I just posted the few pictures to my website that I took yesterday at the
fly-in. www.trv7.com, look for "Rotor Fest 06" on the menu on the
left. Sorry, but almost all of the picutres are of Jason's and Tracy's
installation, and I didn't take that many pictures.

During demo, it was capable of being triggered by a propane heater that was 30 feet away that just happened to be pointing at the detector.
The detection bulb is about the size of an H1 halogen bulb (Un-shelled peanut size?), and can be separate from the circuit board if needed. Cost was around $200 if I remember right.
Supposedly is NOT triggered by infrared radiation (such as glowing hot manifolds) but only by a specific band of UV light that is present in open flames/combustion.
I'm sure Marc will be able to give the nitty gritty when he gets back to a computer.
