This is an on-site weather report from Laura at Shady Bend. It is
completely clear, cool and breezy today. We were on the back side of the
cold front so all the Wilma issues stayed well south of us. The runway is
mowed and lush - thanks to yours truly all the markers and uncovered and
repainted for this years event. The weather for the rest of the week
is pleasant days (high 60's to mid 70-'s as the week goes on) and nice nights
(low in the high 30's tonight, slowly moderating to 55 by Friday night)
If the weather guessers are at all correct, it looks like a perfect weekend
for the Rotary Roundup!
I'll post again if anything significant.
I can't wait to see all of you again! (Heck - the only way I can get
Tracy to clean the hangar is to have the Roundup!)

Got back today from Charlie & Tupper's Fly-in at Outer
Slobovia. Always a treat. Had big head-winds on way up but got
paid back with an equally strong tailwind on the way back. The
psychological effect of seeing 200+ cruise speeds is a kick! First
time using the oxygen system and it really makes high altitude cruising a
lot nicer. Stayed at 16,500 most of the time and felt great on
arrival rather than the need for a nap like I usually feel.
The Renesis continues to get better all the time as it breaks in and I
get the engine controller fine tuned to it. Only glitch was the
sluggish engine start after the engine cold soaked over night. Need to
switch from 15W - 50 to 10W - 30 for the winter. Or maybe its that
weenie motorcycle battery I use? Anyway, another pleasurable 6 rotary
powered hours added to the Hobbs.
