Greg,
The Aussie bellhousing has 3 mounting places for the Starter, left, right
and bottom - however I'm not fussed on recommending the bottom position,
that's Butch's idea which requires milling of the face and inserting an
additional plate. It primarily an additional position for those with very
narrow installations and the only place to put a starter is at the bottom.
I prefer the LHS but that sits over a mounting hole position, which is
primarily for the starter in the Car installation anyway.
If you send me your e-mail address, I will send you a photo.

I believe the RX8 bellhousing mounting holes are the same - but could be
wrong. That's something I haven't as yet checked.

Ladies & Gentlemen,  I'm looking for opinions about which is the better
cowl
to use for my RV8.  The James rotary cowl, his lycoming cowl or the
standard
Vans cowl. It appears I'll have to make the engine mount myself since
Conversion Concepts seem to be taking money without delivery so I can make
it to suite any of the above.

There is a lack of  RV8s locally so I can't easily see the genuine Vans
cowl
and I've only seen magazine pics of the James rotary cowl.  So I ask you
which would be the better for a rotary installation.

George, as a matter of interest is the starter on your bell  housing on
the
side or underneath and does it fit the RX8 motor?

Thankyou
Greg
