David,

Its normal for the program select button to glow when power is applied to the EC2.  I guess "Green" might have been a more suitable color for a normal condition rather than "red", but nothing to be alarmed about.

Yes, I first discovered that the EC2 had a "sneak" circuit that would provide power through the injectors.  Tracy assumed that most people will kill power to the injectors and EC2 both by turning off the master switch as he does.  However, on my system the master switch does not turn off anything critical such as the EC2 (wouldn't want to bump it with my knee {:>)).  So I wire up a separate switch for the EC2 CPU power, needless to say, it did NOT turn off the EC2 because of the "sneak" circuit providing power from the injectors.  Fortunately I had the two injector switches that Tracy recommends and I turn off the engine by turning off the injectors.

So not to worry about the light.

When I power up my EC2 the program select button glows red.  I am hoping that this is normal – although green would have been a more re-assuring color.  The interesting thing is that when I supply power to the main buss (but not the EC2) the LED also glows red.  Is this normal?  The juice is getting to the EC2 via the injectors (which are powered by the main buss).  If I unplug the injectors the LED goes out.  Seems strange, but I’m hoping everything is OK and hope I don’t have to start re-wiring.
