My dad was one of the early electronics pioneers. I never heard him use the
word "capacitor" until the early '60s.

Thanks for the info. So the solid state relay in essence is called
an Ignitor. I do a lot of electrical work Tracy, I'm just not an EE. (I'm an
ME) This is one of those situations where the NAME is the bugaboo. Like
calling the capicitors in old automotive apps "condensers".
