I know that George Graham broke "stock transmission
redrive" by running on one rotor, but this is the first RWS drive failure from
it. Makes me wonder if I should inspect the internals of my redrive, or if I'd
spot any telltale signs when I do. Mines an RD-1A and has always had about 3/4
inch of play at the prop tip.
Regards,
John (wondering why putting wives in airplanes makes
everything break).
3/4 - 7/8" total lash at
prop tip is normal, but an A drive on that turbo engine? 46" of
manifold pressure! Oh my ache'n head.
