Bill, Ed and All,
Here's a thought, most mufflers don't stand up to the Mazda exhaust, especially being so close to the engine. I notice this crowd has an expansion chamber, I'm thinking before the muffler.

The VAM is a large expansion chamber and with cool air mixing any muffler ( after the VAM) would stand-up to the reduced temps.
I know we don't want extra weight, but It might work well it one desired the low noise.
Especially a demonstrator type set-up.

  Ed,
A little late but I bought a pair of stainless flanges from
"ISC" Racing some time ago for about $25.00 each......I do
not know current price or availability........FWIW

 P.S.....They are 3/8 inch thick

looking to re-do my two hole exhaust system into a single tube.  Am looking for a source of 13B exhaust flange stainless steel.  I am aware that Mazdatrix has a Racing Beat Flange - however, I do not believe it is Stainless steel.  Anybody have a source?

Thanks
