I alway thought that silicone was a no-no on all exhaust
components.
I'm
told:
The reason Silicon
Adhesive is not recommended in exhaust systems is, it destroys O2 sensors.
Silicon migrates (moves around), and coats the sensor, rendering it useless. If
you don't have an O2 sensor, no big deal.
