Mike, the closest reamer I have located is a .5469 which is only slightly too big. It probably would work but if I could stay within tolerances that would be better. The bore is sized to create the right crush on the o-ring. Pressurized fuel, leaking is not an option. Jerry

You need a proper sized fluted reamer for that. The boring bar wil be far
too rough and you have to have a full through hole for the adjustable
reamers. Drill and/or bore the hole about .015 undersize and ream it up from
there.
If you were closer, I'd knock this right out for you. Mike C.

Subject: [FlyRotary] Machining help needed
I need to find someone to finish the bores on my injector bosses or
tell me how to do it. Final i.d.should be .540 to .545 in. The
bosses are .45 in high and are bored and reamed to .5312. Material is
6061. I tried using a boring bar but could not maintain the
tolerances. I bought adjustable hand reamers but they were not the
right tool for the job. I considered trying to sand the bore to the
correct size using a flapper but have not tried it yet. Suggestions?
Volunteers? Jerry
