Last month DSL finally came to my rural location.  We immediately ordered after being assured that there were no compatibility problems with Mac. OS 10.  However, when the self install package arrived from Sprint no Macintosh drivers were included.  If anyone can offer guidance it would be most appreciated.  Sprint "technical" assistance is not very sophisticated.   My next step is to search Apple support to see if an answer is out there.   Fearing dial up forever,  Jerry

I don't have DSL.  Cable modem is  a better deal here.  Get one of the self-contained routers.  Around $50.  Then set your computer(s) up for DHCP.  The provider will only see on computer on the line, you can have more computers than will fit in your house share it, and you can forget about it for the most part.

Then go to dyndns.org, register for a free domain name, and you the you'll always be able to SSH to your home computer or run a website without mucking with the upstream provider.
