   That is commonly used by many A & P mechanics that I know.
  The drawback to any of these fluids is that if you get a leak it will eat the paint off your plane, silicone will not.

Why not use a good hydraulic ATF fluid such as Dexron III which has a flash point of 400 F, and is readily available. See url:
