[FlyRotary] Re: Ross unit disassembly
Ben
,
What is the history of your Ross??
I bought a Kitfox to fly while I am working on my Acroduster Too.
The Kitfox was already built with the Ross and had 23 hours then and has a total
of 33 now.
Did
you purchase from Ross and does
it
have input shaft thrust bearing installed ?
Based on the movement I found, I would say it does NOT have the
thrust bearing.
Are
you running your Suburu
with
or without a prop (not a good idea) plus no load on redrive gears could
contribute
to the reverberation ?
With prop.
Finally
the four bolts/washers are most
likely
holding the input shaft oil seal carrier in place........My guess is that
your
Ross has no input shaft thrust bearing........Most flying the Ross for
any
length of time have retrofitted a thrust bearing........The input shaft
will
eventually
beat the Mazda thrust bearing to failure........ask Tracy Crook ! I
do
not know how much problem this is with the Suburu......
If I may ask what redrive do you plan on using for your 20B ?
I plan to use Tracy's redrive and all of his
electronics.
