Hi Bill,
  the W/P pulley is about 4 inches dia and the eshaft pulley is about 
4.75 inches dia. A 5.5 inch dia W/P pulley would fit with the standard 
eshaft pulley but if we want to go any bigger, then the eshaft pulley 
would need to be correspondingly smaller. In the attached photo, do not 
be fooled by the eshaft pulley on the front, that is for other uses, 
the W/P driver is behind this and is smaller in dia. It also carries 
the CAS toothed ring, you can just see a tooth or two in the pic.
  I think somewhere in the range, 4 inch driving a 6 inch W/P pulley 
would give us about 4000 rpm - alternator,  at 6000 engine rpm in 
cruise. Even if we reverse the present pullies,ie 4 inch driving the 
4.75 inch W/P,w are in the ballpark.
Are you located near the Racemate shop? I am on the other side of the 
world, but I could get a W/P cartridge to them if necessary. I have the 
online catalogue but it does not give pulley size info. BTW, the RX8 
cartridge looks to be the same bolt pattern as the earlier models but 
the pulley do not stick out as far,( the End Hsg is thicker}, and the 
material in cast Alum.  This pic came from Rupert of asianautospares, 
and is typical of his engines, you can see it is 'as new'.
