Dave,

Why not go ahead and replace the plugs and eliminate that as a possible cause?  They are nearing the end of their useful life anyway.

Another good guess.  Yes, very capable.  I demonstrated that to my self back when my fuel pressure gauge was working properly they could support in excess of 80 PSI with adequate flow.  During the test today I tried running just the 2nd pump, then both together.  No change.

 

Also, worked well in the past with the other turbo pulling 38-40"MAP.

 

The more I think about, the detonation issue because of the advanced timing is starting to make some sense.  Will go retard the timing and see what I get.
