We have a great place about one hundred yards up river of the Gruene River crossing (well, "we" and the folks that rent it the other 51 weeks of the year. Our week is Aug 8 this year). GAWD I love the hill country. I am a graduate of SWTSU in Sin City, uh, San Marcos (the zip really is 78666) and my main destination for my rotary Velocity has always been the San Marcos/New Braunsfels area. My "dream" is to have an hangar there and keep a car there and fly in OFTEN from my home field of Ellington (Nasa's field) in Houston. Gee, can you tell I like the area Yeah, I know, life is too short to live in Houston....and it is home. Just makes going to the Texas Hill Country even sweeter. Jim, I see that you're in New Braunsfels. I'm just into Hays Co. off Hwy 290W. There are a few of us "rotorheads" in the Austin area. You're welcome to come out and look at what I've been working on for the last few years. I've got a hangar lined up and be moving my project out to Lockhart in the next month or so. You can contact me off list at the following email address, mark.steitle "at" Austin.utexas.edu. Mark S. Welcome Jim, You've found the right place for rotary info. Of course we're both on the other list (No not THAT other list) for BD-4 info. Bob W. I need some help in getting started on information that I should bone up on before jumping into the morass of rotary engine building. I ordered the book on rotary conversions by Tracey Crook as a start, but would like input from experienced builders as to other recommended reading and reference material (i.e. books and web sights). > > Best Regards > > Jim Calamon > N5658Z New Braunfles, Texas (BAZ) > "People may fail many times, but they become failures only when they begin to blame someone else" - Unknown > > http://gvtc.com/~n5658z/ > > > -- http://www.bob-white.com N93BD - Rotary Powered BD-4 (real soon) Prewired EC2 Cables - http://www.roblin-photo.com/cable/ >> Homepage: http://www.flyrotary.com/ >> Archive: http://lancaironline.net/lists/flyrotary/List.html >> Homepage: http://www.flyrotary.com/ >> Archive: http://lancaironline.net/lists/flyrotary/List.html
