IMO using the EC-2 with complete separation of power & ground feed on the EM-2, the LS1 coils, redundant CAS, power Bus &alternator/batteries will give you backup on fuel & ignition systems.

Unfortunately, true redundancy is hard to come by.  The EC-2 is probably about as close as you can come to having two separate controllers, without being truly separate.  While I wish the EC-2 had separate power feeds, rather than sharing one, I can also understand Tracy's reasons for not being too worried about it.  You have to draw the line somewhere.

Truth be told, I worry more about the wires from the CAS than any other item, and you can bet those babies are tie wrapped within an inch of their lives (or mine at least).

I have previously suggested that the wiring from the firewall to the engine be heavily protected by  tubing or steel angle to prevent a breaking or broken belt from damaging the wires and stopping the engine.

I plan on running the CAS wires in al tubing and all other wires in some sort of conduit.
