The best I can do for now is to emphasize two things. Pay
attention to every detail and admit to yourself when you don't have the ability
to execute something well.
You're right on there,
Tracy. Most of my problems have been a result of not paying enough attention to
details. Must be in the ADD in me, or the need to "get it done". Combine this
with relative inexperience in both electronics and engineering, and it's
been a struggle. I've tried to pull in expertise when needed, but a few hours is
all most people can reasonably give, and that's often not enough.
My only excuse is that,
with a complex airplane installation there are soooooo many details. It's taking
a long time, but it's working out well.... I'm finding ALL the little things you
can do wrong for the other non electronics experts and non engineers that
try to follow. I'd like to
think I'm performing a service. :)
Of course, Experimental
Aviation is all about learning, and I've done a LOT of that as I've gone
along.
Just one thing I'd like
to add:
In all of this you,
Tracy, have been an absolute gentleman with utmost patience and
understanding. Not once a harsh word or a complaint. I kept breaking stuff. You
kept fixing it. My hat's off to ya. It's good policy for a small company to
offer top notch service, but it's not in our interests that you go out of
business from being too nice, either. At some point you're going to have to
start charging for service like this. Feel free to start with me.
John (feeling pretty
good tonight)
