Turbo oil supplies have a limiting orfice like a pressure sensor to limit loss of oil due to a shaft break. And they would foul on the total amount pumped at normal oil pressure. The oil scavenge pump or check valve on the return is also important.

I must not understand something, why are you putting a solenoid on the
turbo feed line? It seems like a good way to ruin a turbo.

There are some turbo failure modes that damage the oil seal in the turbo.
Even if the turbo freezes solid, you can still continue with partial power,
and possibly no real damage to the engine, so long as you don't allow all
your oil to be pumped overboard through the damage turbo oil seal.  The only
time you would close the valve is if you start blowing smoke, and you figure
the turbo is a goner at that point anyway.   Cheers,
