works on the order of the rotary engine, has 3 or 4 (can't remember) vanes on an
eccentric shaft and as they spin, they move in and out like large apex
seals and in a sort of elliptical orbit. Don't know why they don't
recommend lubrication, there is definitely friction to the side walls although
the vanes seem to be made of some type of plastic like phenolic.
