Finn, yep I realize there is still voltage on the fat wire since it hooked directly to battery which is showing 12.3 volts when you disconnect the little line from the battery to the alt plug. But there is no current flow which says to me the alternator is not producing anything , right.

Did not comprehend all Charlie said about frying electronics with over voltage, but hope I do before leaving Slobvovia ON this week end.

Are you flying up Finn?

I must have misread the original post. I thought you were opening the B-lead; it now sounds like you are opening the small control wire & measuring current on the B-lead. If that's the case, you are probably shutting down the alternator. (That still doesn't protect the a/c electronics if the internal regulator fails. We'll talk this weekend.)

Finn,

You can make it up here; I've ordered tailwinds both ways for you so Ed won't get any. The most hazardous part of the flight is over the swamps in N Fl & you do that all the time going to Tracy's. Think of it as 3 or 4 flights to Tracy's & come on up.

(2.6 hours & about 25 gallons in my 160hp -4 from Cross City)
