How much of an over-voltage would it take to burn out the input power filter choke and shut down the EC-2.  Could this happen from a failed alternator voltage-regulator?  Is there something other builders could do to prevent this from happening to them?

All good questions Mark.  I would also add- Is there only one of these filters in the EC-2?  In other words, is it a single component that can take out both controllers?  I have to admit that I've never been comfortable not having redundant power feeds to the controllers, and I'd be even more uncomfortable to learn there's a single point failure that can (however unlikely) happen.

Thanks for being open, as always about all this!

Cheers,
Rusty (waiting for a better scale to attempt my dynamic prop balancing)
