I am flattered by the nomination for presidency, but at this stage that is premature. 2) I need to clarify some things up front about MY opinions and position without taking the liberty to impose them upon the will of the group. I am not advocating us actively participating in Paul Connor's accident. We are not organized, we have not established any credibility other than that of a nod among peers (no offense intended to anyone). My earlier comments about obtaining the salvage were theoretical, as were most of my other suppositions. To try and throw something together to try and participate after the fact will (in my OPINION) not benefit Paul's Memory, the rotary cause nor the aviation community. Make no mistake. I am motivated to form this group BECAUSE of Connor's accident. But I would be hesitant to try and form something and show up a week, a month or who knows how long and try to analyze this accident after the fact. At the same time, if the group (this will be group run organization, leaders accountable to members) desires to pursue intervention, I will not try to roadblock it. Likewise, I am NOT saying "dont contact Carol or Art", nor to not ask questions. I am just saying lets be careful that we dont set ourselves up to fail by not being organized and prepared. 3) I am working the next several evenings. I will tally up some information as I get the chance. I will feed it back to the group. The group will end up making the decision to incorporate, and to establish leadership. 4) I made outreach to PL before his name came up. It was a critically worded but constructive (in my opinion) statement that as of yet, has not been published on his list. I sent it this morning. I have not recieved a response. I will not exclude him, but on the same token the likelyhood of any one person "hijacking" the list are minimal. Leadership positions will be based on popular vote with certain roles to require practical experience. 5) I will make outreach/contact to several other type clubs or manufacturers of kits for their input and feedback. If not me personally, once we organize, designate a lead person to do so. 6) We all have lives and other jobs. We have to accept that one person cannot do it all. I know I cant. I will also say that I have some personality traits that sometimes make me less of a politician and more like PL. Take that to mean what you will. I do not anticipate myself remaining in a PR role, but rather a technical role (once estabilished).. a behind the scenes kind of guy. In the interim (for however long that will be) I will do what needs to be done, as long as I am able to do it. Lets take care that none of us bite off more than we can chew. 7) I am not married to any name for the group. Lets just make it short, simple and easy to say. Pronounceable abbreviation would be a bonus. Dave Staten
