It opened automatically by my mail reader. But your situation does point up the hazards of forwarding a message as an attachment: on some lists (e.g. Canard-Aviators) the attachment - even if it is plain ASCII - will be deleted; some mailers won't open attachments unless they have a known extension (e.g. ".txt"). It is prudent for the sender to set there mail handler to include forwarded text as "in-line text", rather than as an attachment.
