Thread-Index: AcVZmOZFQkDc52JIRZaiaVaiIYY2PAAf1GFQ From: "Mark R Steitle" To: "Rotary motors in aircraft" Hi B2, I have been talking with Scott at Skysmith Insurance concerning builder's risk insurance for my Lancair ES with a 20B. One of the first questions he asked is if I am using Tracy Crook's accessories. As soon as I confirmed that I was, then he seemed happy. AIG started tagging on a bunch of other "requirements", such as I must have used the Lancair builder's assist program, and have the work inspected by Lancair factory inspectors (???). Don't know where all that came from, but Scott worked through the confusion and got clarification on these issues. AIG is looking for a Lancair "final inspection" before they will insure it for flight. That will be a while for me, but I know what to expect now, until they change the requirements again. =20 Mark S. =20 -----Original Message----- From: Rotary motors in aircraft [mailto:flyrotary@lancaironline.net] On Behalf Of bbradburry@allvantage.com Sent: Sunday, May 15, 2005 4:59 PM To: Rotary motors in aircraft Subject: [FlyRotary] Insurance!!! Are any of you having problems getting insurance for the Lancair? I tried to get a quote for a Lancair Legacy FG yesterday and was turned down. I tried both Avemco and Falcon. Avemco wanted 600 hours and an instrument rating. Falcon wanted 500 hours and an instrument rating. I have just shy of 300 hours commercial pilot, single and multi, and instrument rating. About 50 hours of single engine complex retractable. They declined to quote me??? Are all you guys retired military and airline pilots with thousands of hours?? What gives here and do any of you have any suggestions? B2 >> Homepage: http://www.flyrotary.com/ >> Archive: http://lancaironline.net/lists/flyrotary/List.html
