I can honestly say I came up with it myself - or at least I don't recall
anyone ever using this method. I did it when I had all three compression
rotors and looking at them couldn't tell much difference. So the light
bulb went on and I decided that the depth of the depression was probably less
for the higher compression rotors (I guess they could have enlarged the area -
but apparently did not).

Ok, Georges, found my notes. for the
9.7:1 the depth is 4mm. 9.4:1 is 5.5mm and the 9.1 is 7 mm.

this, or read it somewhere else? I just checked a 9.4 and a 9.7, and it
seems to work.
