Well, actually, Bill after doing some "research" on the internet (not that volume makes correct) there seems to be quite a bit of "agreement" that the synthetics do not keep the things like Lead in suspension very well, permitting it to collect in areas. But, you point is well taken, not running out to change the oil this morning {:>)

Ed, While I don't totally discount that there could be some (MINOR) problems. I would remind you that McDonalds was sued by some idiot that spilled hot coffee in their own lap! Just because it's litigated don't necessarily mean that it's true!
