I modified the spring on my TWM; I think I cut off about 1/2 a turn.  Set
it
up so a throttle lever disconnect would result in about half open throttle
(which may be about 70% power).

I think I can work that out.  The spring comes around and hooks the lever that controls the throttle plate.  I could cut the end of the spring and thread it through a short drilled bolt that I can pass through the lever.  Bolt it into place like the brake line cable on a bicycle.

I just bent the spring again to thread back through a hole in the lever.  I
made a new lever to give the correct orientation to the throttle cable, and
made it longer to give a greater throw (more controllable).
